Constructed with a drop shoulder shape for comfort when wearing a backpack, the neckline is curved to allow for movement and below a stitched panel across the chest brings attention to a small pocket below. Ensuring smaller items remain in place when active, the compartment has a zip closure with a fabric pull tab and on either side of the waist in-seam pockets with curved pocket bags are available for storing small essentials. For subtle branding within the lower left side of the body a woven Battenwear label has been positioned within the seam.

Established in 2011 by designer and vintage enthusiast Shinya Hasegawa, Battenwear is based in New York City with a satellite office in Topanga Canyon, California which perfectly reflects how each collection combines hybrid elements of outerwear clothing suited to both the great outdoors and inner city explorations. Inspired by surfing and outdoor culture of the 1960’s, 1970’s and 1980’s, Hasegawa looks to his own archive for constant inspiration, as
well as original advertisements and designs by Patagonia, LL Bean and The North Face.
